Why Do I Have to Remove Toxins from my Body?
The purpose of a Detox diet is to remove toxins from your body. There are some side effects
associated with the process as toxins are flushed away, but it’s understandable because these
toxins have been building up within most of our bodies for years. They weigh us down and make
us feel sluggish a lot of the time.
That being said, it’s pretty obvious why removing toxins from our bodies is important. They’re not
only slowing us down, but they’re slowing down our organ functions and making it difficult for our
kidneys and colon to correctly process the food that we consume. If the toxins that build up over
time within us are not eventually removed, they can cause sickness and disease. If you remove
these toxins from your body on occasion, you’re working to protect yourself from illness. The
Detox process doesn’t take that long, and it’s well worth it for the protection it offers in the long
run.
Even if you’re eating right and exercising, you’re still exposed to toxins on a daily basis. They’re
in the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink, all of which we need to survive, so
they’re impossible to avoid.
One way to avoid having to do any type of Detox diet is to follow an organic diet. In his book
entitled “The Detox Book” author Bruce Fife says that no matter how healthy you think you are that
a Detox diet can still benefit us by delving deep into our tissues and organs to pull out toxins we
didn’t even know were there.
Even if you live a completely healthy lifestyle, it’s still important to clean out your system once in
awhile. A Detox diet gives your body a break from having to break down foods and forces toxins
from past foods out of your system. This can lead to less chemical sensitivity and fatigue as well
as aid in the overall digestion process. If your body is better equipped to process the foods it’s
consuming, the less toxins you’ll end up inviting back into your system.
Elson M. Haas talks about his theories on “naturopathy” in his book “The Detox Diet,” one of
which is that the body is able to heal itself and return to its optimally functioning state if it’s given
the proper environment to do so. This is exactly what you’re doing when you Detox diet and it’s
going to help you avoid many health issues in the future, not to mention the positive health
benefits you’ll probably feel right away.
Haas also talks about how toxicity is such a threat in our world today in the forms of things like
water and air pollution, radiation and nuclear waste. All of these harmful toxins are bad for our
health. Removing toxins from our bodies makes it possible for us to be more tolerable of all of
the toxins in our surrounding environment that we can’t control. If we get too many toxins in our
body, they become bogged down and backed up, making our bodies even less efficient at
processing toxins in the future.
Removing toxins from your body is crucial to its proper functioning and orderly flow of your
system. Taking them out of the equation will not only make you feel better but your system will
be at an optimal performance level and your health will improve because of it.
