How do I know that my Detox is complete?
Because there are so many Detox diets to select from, it’s hard to say exactly when the Detox diet
process will be complete. Many of them don’t even have a set amount of days to follow the diet,
so it’s not uncommon to wonder when you’re going to resume eating a solid food diet. When
you’re looking for the right Detox diet for you, you can usually find information on how long you’re
supposed to follow each diet. But how do you know when it’s optimal to quit the ones that don’t
specify a length of time? There are signs that you can look out for to indicate that you have been
on your Detox diet long enough. Once you are aware of what to watch out for, you should have no
problem determining when it’s a good time to go back to eating healthy solid foods.
There are many resources available to you to help you figure out what Detox diet will be like from
day to day. One of these resources is the book “The New Detox Diet” by Elson M. Haas and
Daniella Chace. In this book they spell out the detoxification process day by day. During the first
few days of a Detox diet your body is trying to adjust to some major changes, so you’re going to
experience some unpleasant side effects like increased bowel movements, fatigue, hunger and
more. After the third day of a Detox diet, it’s said that most of these symptoms are significantly
reduced, but it’s always an ongoing struggle in some regards because you might still experience
some of them on occasion.
After enduring the Detox process for a few days you can usually tell that the diet has been
working. Reportedly, you start to feel healthier, generally light and well. No longer are you
supposed to be burdened by hunger or weakness. When this feeling of cleanliness and clarity
begins occurring, it’s a sign that your system is performing at its highest level and the
Detoxification process is at its end. Other signs that it’s done its job are clearer skin, less aches
and pains than you had previously and significantly increased energy. You should also notice
that you sleep better and wake up feeling more rested and relaxed.
If you’re undergoing an extreme Detox diet that involves fasting, there are certain signs that
indicate that you should stop dieting. Christopher Vasey talks about these signs that urgently
indicate that you need to stop your Detox diet in his book “The Detox Mono Diet.” Some of these
signs include complete exhaustion and depression. If you’re losing weight too quickly or you
lose some of your vitality, this is another sign that you’ve been dieting for too long. If you start to
notice a strange acetone odor to your breath, this is another sign that it may be time to stop
because this could indicate that that your body isn’t effectively breaking down fats. Recurrent
nightmares and insomnia are also red flags.
Author Bruce Fife also suggests more signs that indicate your Detox diet is complete in “The
Detox Book.” He says that hunger becomes a different sort and that you’ll notice a different type
of hunger pains when it’s time to stop your Detox diet. It’s almost common sense, but if you
know that you absolutely must consume some food or you feel like you’re causing serious harm
to your body, it’s probably time to call it quits. The amount of time your body can go without food
varies from person to person so only you can watch out for what your body is trying to tell you and
determine when it’s time to stop your Detox diet.
